In December 2022, Salus Aviation purchased the Helicopter Division of Airwork Holdings - but don’t worry, all the same Airwork team that you have dealt with in the past are still with us and are now working alongside the wider Salus Aviation team. As you can see when perusing this site, Salus Aviation is a proudly New Zealand owned company and we are extremely excited to have the Airwork Helicopters team join the Salus Aviation family of companies.

In December 2022, Salus Aviation purchased the Helicopter Division of Airwork Holdings. The helicopter engineering and maintenance facility was established in 1936 and the experience and capability developed over the years has been added to the Salus Aviation group. Our comprehensive range of capabilities, in-house expertise, world class technology and certifications is what distinguishes us within the global aviation market. Based at Ardmore Airport in Auckland, New Zealand, our capabilities include Helicopter Maintenance, Turbine Engine Centre, Dynamic Component Centre, Manufacturing Projects Centre, Parts and Logistics and NDT.
Underpinning the operations of all Salus Aviation divisions is a robust and practical Quality Assurance(QA) programme. As with all aviation businesses, QA and safety are intrinsically linked.
The Quality Assurance department is charged with auditing the procedures that apply across Salus Aviation and ensuring those procedures are current.
The QA team is also responsible for ensuring all CAANZ aviation certificates held by the Company are current and manages document updates and the renewal process as required.

Our Safety and Quality Management System is integral to the every-day operations within our company and is instilled in every staff member. We promote the just culture reporting model, a Safety Management System (SMS) and a quality assurance programme with the emphasis on creating a transparent and safe working environment. Our emphasis on developing a healthy safety culture within the company takes precedent. In addition all helicopters are fitted with Flight Cell DZM tracking and satellite technology along with an aircraft monitoring systems.
Our systems are based on proven international practices and undergo frequent in-depth audits and assessments from accredited firms thereby ensuring compliance with local and international standards/regulations. As the aviation industry is constantly evolving, our system framework has been developed to allow for continuous improvement thereby ensuring a modern and efficient approach to all operations.
